Australian Champion Ironwoman Hayley Bateup (just about) bares all for Art and The Face Painting Company

WEARING nothing but 'chicken fillets', a g-string and a thin layer of body paint, Hayley Bateup had every right to feel naked. The champion ironwoman was centre stage at the Sanctuary Cove Art Festival launch on Friday night after being body-painted by Milana Tornatore of The Face Painting Company

Bateup was painted from head to toe with a marine landscape including an under-sea theme from her chest down and a beach and sky setting from her chest up.The painting, which took three hours to complete, was a colourful start to the Sanctuary Cove Art Festival which ran all weekend showcasing more than 400 pieces of artwork.

Bateup said she had expected to wear a bra and full briefs for the display."I felt naked but I had a couple of friends there who said it looked like I had tights on," she said.

Bateup thought about turning up to her morning training session still painted, but after driving home with the artwork on her body, she opted to take a shower to avoid covering her bed in paint.

Hi Sam,

Just a huge thankyou from all of us here at Channel Nine. We greatly appreciate all the work that you and your team did on Australia Day. You brought a lot of happiness to the kidsand families on the day. It was a wonderful tribute to those families that were either affected by the floods or that helped out in some way.

Hi-5's all round as Lauren and Purplena visit Radio Lollipop Gold Coast Hospital

Lauren from popular children’s group Hi-5 bounded through the archway of balloons of the Radio Lollipop Studio to be greeted by many smiling faces on Monday 16 May 2011. The children completed Hi-5 crafts, played games and Lauren spent time chatting with each child.

Purplena the Face Painting Fairy from Dreamworld brightened up the ward by painting beautiful designs on many faces. Patients, siblings, Radio Lollipop Volunteers and even some of the nurses! There were butterflies, flowers, spidermen, Ben 10 characters and many other amazing designs.

Later Lauren and Purplena went for a walk around the wards to visit the children who were unable to make it down to the studio. Lauren chatted to the children and their families and autographed Hi-5 gear for them. Purplena painted the children’s faces and sprinkled special ‘get well fairy dust’ to help them feel much better. Every child was left smiling from ear to ear after their special visit from Lauren and Purplena.

A big thank you to Lauren for taking time out of your busy Hi-5 schedule to come and spend time with the children at Gold Coast Hospital and put so many smiles on faces. We hope you'll come back and visit us again soon.

Thank you also to Purplena for colouring the children in the ward with your beautiful artwork. We hope you'll come and sprinkle some more of that special 'get well fairy dust' again soon.
